Bob joined Merrill Lynch in 1975. A native of New York, he graduated from the University of Richmond
with a BS in Accounting and Finance in 1973, and earned an MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1979.
Bob is a member of the firm’s prestigious Charles E. Merrill Circle of Recognition, and specializes within our
practice in personal investment strategies, municipal fixed income portfolios, and entry and exit strategies
for business owners. Bob is married, has five children, and resides in Dallas. He is a Captain in the Civil Air Patrol,
the Co-Chairman of the Business Division of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, and is active in the Plano Rotary Club
and at Congregation Beth Torah.
Shane Stein, Merrill Lynch
Shane joined Merrill Lynch in 2008, after working in the private equity and charter aviation industries.
Originally from Dallas, Shane earned a BA from the University of Pennsylvania in 2000, as well as an
MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 2005. Within our practice he specializes
in business services, high net worth and multigenerational solutions, and alternative investments.
Shane lives in Dallas with his wife Tracey and daughter Emma. He is active in the Dallas Wharton Alumni club,
the Texas-Israel Chamber of Commerce, Akiba Academy of Dallas, and Congregation Shaare Tefilla
Bill Finkelstein, K&L Gates
Bill provides general business and strategic counsel to clients in a broad range of industries,
including manufacturing, metals recycling, jewelry, retail, medical-dental equipment, and real estate.
He also represents businesses, investors and financial institutions in workout transactions, restructurings,
bankruptcies, and litigation. His significant practical experience includes counseling clients on commercial
transactions, acquisitions and minimizing insolvency risks in structuring business transactions, representing clients
in acquisitions of businesses and assets from troubled companies, and representing official committees in bankruptcy cases.
Mr. Finkelstein has also represented lenders, exporters and importers and technology-based firms in a wide variety of
commercial litigation and insolvency matters. Following graduation with honors from law school in 1974, Mr. Finkelstein clerked for the Honorable Thomas M. Reavly, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Texas, and for thirty-three years was a member of the firm Hughes & Luce, LLP which merged with K&L Gates in 2008.
