The Wharton CEOs & Presidents Lunch Has Returned!
The WCDFW has launched a series of exclusive lunches, each one focused on a very specific professional function. This is a great way to not only network, but to develop more connected relationships with Wharton peers.
The purpose of the micro-lunches is to provide an intimate setting in which our alumni can meet and engage their peer group in a protected, informative, and effective way, and this virtual discussion is capped to 10 attendees.
This virtual lunch is hosted by Alvaro Saenz, WG'04, President and CTO for the West Group for Pediatric Associates. Mr. Saenz started his career in healthcare by leading MD Medical Group, a primary healthcare group based in Texas. Mr. Saenz joined MDMG in 2007, as the company was just starting. During his tenure, MDMG grew from 2 locations in the Dallas area to a network of 58 offices in Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, El Paso, and Beaumont. By the time MDMG joined Pediatric Associates in July of 2020 as part of a PE sponsored transaction, the company had a running rate of 850K patient encounters.
Since 2020, the combined Company has expanded operations into other states that include California, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Arizona. In December of 2021, the Company underwent a second transaction with the sale of a minority stake to another PE sponsor.
Prior to joining MDMG, Mr. Saenz worked at Bain & Company, a strategy consulting firm, where he focused primarily on developing high-growth strategies for small companies. Prior to Bain, Mr. Saenz worked at Goldman Sachs and Deloitte Consulting. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech and a Masters from The Wharton School.
